There have been some great folks along the way who have been a big reason this journey has been as memorable as it has. I have hiked over 300 miles at this point and expect I'll meet lots more great folks over the next 5 months.

I see you stayed at Standing Bear Farm in Hartford. I grew up less than 30 minutes from there. I've known Maria Guzman (who runs the place) since I was about 9 years old. Cool! Keep on keepin' on! --Krisha

Hi Jim,
It is fun seeing the folks you are meeting along the way. Charlie did get a late start from the south to the north and finished up in over a foot of snow on Novemeber 1st. He realized that he should have started earlier! But by the end he was so strong and determined that nothing would have stopped him. Do you know they are making a movie about the AT from the book, A Walk in the Woods? Charlie is trying to get a production piece of that since he is still so taken with his AT experience.
It is hard when couples have different priorities and it's essential to follow your dream. As you know, we sometimes take the leap, knowing it's right, and hope for the best. And then there seems to be that perfect order. I pray that this is a valuable experience for you both.
Onna is perfect - playing competitive softball and won MVP last weekend at a tournament.
